GreenBankSend to: (NEEDS TO ARRIVE BEFORE 24TH JULY 2007) Peter Babb – Head of Planning and Julia Ward P.O. Box 463 Town Hall Extension Manchester M60 3NY Dear Peter Babb / Julia Ward, RE: Saving Greenbank Park – Application no. 082816/FO/2007/N2 I am writing in response to the new and revised planned development for Greenbank Playing fields. I am not in support of the plans for the following reasons: The appearance of the field which is at present a beautiful open space with mature trees and benches will be greatly worsened by the plans. The plans will fence off the best areas of the park with unsightly tall fences. The trees are a real asset to the space, they should be allowed to mature freely and none of them should be removed. The car park and changing block will be unattractive additions to the space. There is likely to be extra litter created.I think the level of activity on the field will be reduced in terms of its current varied use. It is a very used area by people walking their dogs, people playing cricket and ball games, picnic makers, and the general public walking through for example from Manor Road to Barlow Road Post Office and shops and from Manor Road to Cromwell Road Library, swimming baths and shops. The plans will not allow full community use of the space. The football club will attract extra traffic, pollution and congestion to the area (see above objection to car parking facilities). There will be resulting parking problems for residents in the area. The noise from the football matches will break the peace and quiet of the park. The noise will also be a nuisance for local residents. The plans will reduce the beauty and calm of overlooking areas. This will affect not only those people whose houses face onto/near the park, but also pedestrians who regularly walk along Manor Road and Barlow Road between Stockport Road and Mount Road.

I also want to say that:______________________________________________________________
