I would be interested to know if there have been replies to these letters and what they contained.

I think FoL is doing a great job.
Thank you

The land around St Mary's is owned by Anglo-Irish properties in parnership with the local Catholic Church Diocese. They also own the eyesore around Chapel Street which is the Old Mill site and the Fitlock premises....The area is earmarked for a range of car parking/apartments and family housing etc. As well as retail provision and 'community space'.

However, I don't see any concern given to the local residents or area by these absentee landlords.

It would be interesting to find out if Anglo-Irish properties are trying to buy the site for the old Community Centre on Chapel Street as the council claim it also has been earmarked for residential purposes, hence the £100,000 price tag for the community if they want it to be a community space again.

I also would like to know what the response from the diocese and the property 'developers' is!!!! If there has been one!!!?

I think that this needs to be highlighted and they need to take responsibility for their actions.....also, the old church on stockport road that was demolished....they have destroyed a fantastic piece of local architectural, history and cultural heritage....i.e. this is vandalism, architectural violence.

The issues in Levenshulme need highlighting, current footage on youtube is just simple documentation of a small crowd. It doesn't contain information that an audience can relate to.

As a filmmaker I intend to make a short documentary that will portray the problems that have developed and been inflicted on the area along with some individual stories and human dimension, this will give more dimension to the problems we face here and will attain more coverage.
p.s. I am not willing to act as a voice piece for any political party

There were some replies! FOl secretary is away on hols but I'll ask him and the chair to see if they can be put up on the site. I think they were bland responses. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
