Sure Start
Jun 21 2008, 11:48 AM EDT
Hi, Just been to the Sure Start family day in Broom Avenue...was a really good day for the kids I was shocked to read the 'Smell A Rat' attachment on the FOL website as it's basically political propaganda...I thought FOL wasn't meant to be affiliated to any political parties, I get the sense that it's been used as a tool by Left List (the local candidate also posted info and attachment)
I don't feel happy about this group using the title FOL, it seems misleading.
Sorry, I'm a little bit incensed but it opens up great ground for debate over political parties involvement in FOL.

we went to the open day on saturday, and to be honest,I actually found the building to be a lot more user friendly than before the surestart "takeover".Speaking to staff, they commented on how a lot of deadspace unused in the previous layout was now in use for both the children, and the staff to use more efficiently-also, more of the back of the building was used for playspace than when our nipper was there- I too feel a bit misled by the FOL previous spoutings of loss of space, and services-surely we are lucky to have a childrens centre in leve, and hopefully this will continue with sharing premises, and the media attention the "hub " will bring.......... all I hope now is they sort out the broom lane/broom ave dice with death junction.....!!
So be aware FOL,people don't like being taken for rides, especially if you've political underhand motives..................... cheers,..........................
