Gerald Kaufman at the demo......
Mar 10 2007, 5:37 PM EST
I,m afraid I do not like to think our hard work has been to allow ANY political party to step in and take any kind of publicity from our day today..........so please make it clear as far as a few people I spoke to on saturday,Gerald Kaufman could well be a victim of a custard pie attack next time he is given a chance to try drum up support on the back of a peoples campaign.........you have been warned!!

I agree that we don't want this campaign to be hijacked by party politics - the campaign has been organised by residents for residents. However - Gerald Kaufman did pledge to support us on Saturday, a pledge we will remind him of in the coming weeks. Custard pies therefore might not be that helpful - that said, if Gerald doesn't follow through his pledge, I'll reconsider that statement.Ian (Bristol and Gloucester Avenues Residents Association/Friends of Levenshulme) Do you find this valuable? |

I think the whole issue of party politics was handled fantastically last night when the local politicians tried to turn it into a libdem/labour fest. The politicans were told to back off - and they looked shocked, actually. Good.
